Where Fashion Met Music Magic! ????????

We’re excited to be able to reflect on an incredible summer, where fashion crossed into music. ACS had the phenomenal opportunity to be invited backstage at the King Tuts during TRNSMT.

In a country already renowned for having the best audiences in the world, TRNSMT, set within the City’s Glasgow Green, shows artists worldwide that there’s nothing better than a Scottish crowd. TRNSMT is a 3-day non-camping festival with 4 stages – Mainstage, King Tut’s Stage, River Stage and the Boogie Bar. This year’s festival took place on Friday 12th, Sat 13th and Sun 14th July.

With newly awarded backstage passes, ACS had full access to incredible artists and showcased what the sustainable fashion industry has to offer! We had our own tent, set up to emulate our state-of-the-art circular fashion hub, where we offered instant repairs, steaming and garment care to artists, and offered valuable insight into how they could make their sets more sustainable, like how they could implement capsule wardrobes into their tours, and rent garments for shows like TRNSMT!

We had some incredibly valuable conversations with artists about their clothes and what they do with them, so many were curious how renting could become a part of their standard setup and even got in touch with their stylists to see how ACS could even participate in this year’s TNSMT performance.

To our surprise, we had the privilege of dressing Motlëy Cruë’s Tommy Lee in a Highland Storm Kilt for their mainstage performance on Thursday Night alongside Def Leppard. It didn’t stop there, with the debut of our Gilt Edged kilt on the mainstage, the requests to wear a kilt poured in from artists looking to represent Scotland during their time in Glasgow.

With renting Kilts becoming the IT thing at TRNSMT 2023, we were thrilled that the artists became advocates of conscious fashion, we teamed up with the DF Concerts Sustainability Initiative to promote sustainable choices and these were the outcomes we were hoping to achieve. Backstage became an arena of insightful conversations with artists, shedding light on the transformative power of options like Rental, Resale, and Renewal.

Music and fashion are two of the biggest creative industries, it’s brilliant to be able to see them coming together to make an impact towards a greener future. Glasgow’s festival scene is the first stepping stone for circular fashion and music, setting the stage for a greener future.
