Congratulations to My Wardrobe HQ for winning not one, not two, but three Drapers Awards this year. At the Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards 2020, MWHQ took home the Recommerce award and a second award in the ‘Ones To Watch’ category. Following this, we are pleased to announce that – despite the challenges that lockdown has imposed on the fashion industry – MWHQ have just been awarded ‘Best New Online Business’ in the Drapers Digital Awards 2020!
MWHQ is a rental and resale platform, that allows users to rent contemporary and designer clothing for a fraction of the cost, and if users fall in love with a rental item, they have the option to buy and keep it forever. This fashion-forward business model makes luxury clothing accessible and does so in a way that reduces the impact fashion has on the environment. In fact, users who do opt to buy items can later decide to re-list them on the MWHQ platform, closing the loop and contributing towards a circular economy.
The judges at the Drapers event earlier this year praised MWHQ for their “excellent execution across an efficient, elegant and easy-to-use platform and slick behind the scenes operation”.
At ACS Clothing, we are proud to be supporting MWHQ behind the scenes as the fulfilment centre for their rental and resale operations. ACS Clothing ensure that each item of clothing is securely warehoused, checked, cleaned, and sanitised to the highest possible standard, and then packed using sustainable packaging – in line with brand requirements – before dispatch. We also have clothing repair specialists on hand to ensure each garment leaves our facility in ‘as good as new’ condition.
At the Drapers Digital Awards this week, the Judges described My Wardrobe HQ as “innovative in bringing customers circular fashion with the opportunity to buy. This company was built digital and mobile first, and this shows in the experience. The business plan is strong, seeing an opportunity in the market, recognising challenges, and building a platform to lead in the space.”
We are delighted to be on this journey with My Wardrobe HQ and applaud their well-deserved recognition for all the hard work that founders, Sacha Newall, Tina Lake and their team have put into building the brand over the last two years – very worthy winners!
