ACS is delighted to partner with Next to fulfil rental operations in 60 stores across the UK

Next is one of the UK’s largest retailers and boasts annual revenue of £4.3 billion. Their aim is to meet their customers’ expectations by providing ‘exciting, beautifully designed, excellent quality clothing’. Our supply agreement realises that aim fully. Each store participating in the trial will have access to various high-quality white label rental garments. This will complement their existing retail range with menswear rental options across Highland Wear, Formal Wear and Evening Wear.

Experience that matters

Fulfilling rental operations for a large retailer such as Next is a huge undertaking, and ACS is well positioned to meet that challenge with over 20 years’ of experience in rental logistics and garment refurbishment. ACS service traditional menswear rental in 1,000 retailers, circa. 80% of the UK’s men’s rental market, and is purpose-built to facilitate an end-to-end rental solution. ACS has the capacity to store 500,000 hanging items and has a picking throughput of 5,000 items per hour due to our state-of-the-art automated picking solution. This means retailers, like Next, can rest in the knowledge that we have the infrastructure to cope with any fluctuations in demand.

Every menswear rental garment goes on a fascinating journey throughout our 85,000 sq. ft warehouse. On this journey, each garment is transformed into ready-to-wear condition. Every garment is thoroughly cleaned, quality checked and presented immaculately. In addition, we pride ourselves in our advanced ozone generation technology that sanitises garments to a medical standard. Our ozone chamber is eco friendly, sustainable and has a capacity to sanitise 30,000 garments per day. After the sanitisation and refurbishment process, garments are stored in our dynamic buffer which has a capacity of up to 45,000 garments. Every hour despatch and purge waves are sent using RFID technology in batches using patented algorithms. We’re perfectly positioned and looking forward to helping Next emerge as one of the market leaders in the rental space.

Helping the environment

Like ACS, Next recognises it has a responsibility and an obligation to reduce the environmental impact of its business operations. We specialise in textile care and extending the life of garments by over 15x , reducing water, energy and textile waste. ACS has garments that have been rented for over two decades, and each item only leaves our facility in ‘good as new’ condition. We keep existing resources in use and strive to reduce the footprint of fashion. We are proud to be a part of the Circular Economy.
